Way back in the day, I used to put a lot of time and effort into my drawings. It didn't matter if it was a small page or not, I would spend time on my work. The commissions I took for two years kind of murdered that, I wanted to get them done and whenever I did art for myself I felt too guilty. So I rushed it. I got a lot of tension into my work following all the drama so I'm trying to loosen up.
I went to the school store today. I had filled up my travel sketchbook and I needed a new one. I keep a small 9"x6" sketchbook from Bee Paper in my bag so I can draw on the fly. My other one's three times that size and doesn't travel well. I like to have it in between classes or while I'm waiting for food when I go out to eat.
I figured that since I'm kind of starting a new sketchbook, a new year, and a new outlook to my art- I'd start putting work into my art again. I'm still not happy with it, there's a few things wrong but if I sit and nit pick I won't get any more art done. So here's the first actual...decent doodle. I decided to pick on Ashhelm since he's a somber guy with a lot of baggage. I could project on him. XD
